Another School for the Zuzus!

February 12, 2012

Northland College SAAC members worked with the NCSA to present the ZuZu Acrobats from America's Got Talent. The event was a great success, with a gym packed with both members from Northland College as well as the Ashland Community. "There was a ton of energy and excitement. It was a lot of fun!" said Dianna Martin, an NC Volleyball player and SAAC member. SAAC assisted the NCSA by setting up the gym for the big crowd! They also assisted in running tables, and organizing the Kendrigan Gymnasium area for the Acrobats. "We appreciate working with the Northland College Student Association. They have a lot of great ideas, and we make a good team!" expressed SAAC president Megan Zynda.

Buyer Beware - Fake Mapapa Sites

There are a number of people claiming to represent the Mapapa Acrobats.  The first is the site claims to quite literally represent the show with their own webpage or at a page recently installed Facebook.  It really belongs to Ali Fondo.  We have severed all ties with Mr. Fondo.  Buyer beware.

The real Mapapa Acrobats are managed by Capitol International a reputable talent agency.  They always show up at their shows and do a wonderful job.  References available upon request.  If you would like to see us at an upcoming show, drop us a line and we will tell you where you can go to see us.

Most of the talent that stays in the United States is slower and less energetic than the new performers we bring from Africa each year.  The reason people prefer our shows is because we represent the freshest, sharpest Kenyan and Tanzanian artists in Norton America.  We don't claim to have performed in a thousand different countries because quite frankly we aren't in the habit of making up half-truths.  There is simply no comparison between the quality of our shows and any of the artists who managed to get green cards.  The talent begins to fade after adopting American attitudes and lifestyle habits.  Accept no substitutes.

Two Shows Today in Tacoma, WA

The people are very nice in Tacoma Washington.  My group has performed in Japan and there is clearly something which connects all Pacific Ocean dwellers.  Did you know that Mombassa, Kenya our home town also has Pacific Ocean water?  I thought about home today.  I wonder how my mother is doing.  In any event, the shows went very well.  We are the only African Acrobatic group which tours 52 weeks a year.  Got to know how to promote yourself and get jobs wherever you can. Any ideas for shows next summer please drop us a line.  We just keep on moving.  I am going to take photos with my I-Phone soon. That way I don't have to go to Kinko's to download from my camera.  The quality might go down but I think I can post directly to the blog here.  Thank you again.  Got to keep driving.

First Post of Our New Blog

Welcome to the Mapapa Touring Blog.  We decided to set this up when we saw that people are wrongfully appropriating our name.  This is our name.  We are the only Mapapa Acrobats. We are touring in Washington State.  Today we are in Des Moines, WA.  The mountains are very big here.  Like Mount Kenya back home.  Getting ready for show tomorrow.  We plan on doing the chair balancing act.  Here's a picture of our hand-balancing act.
